De Bonk

Ray is a post-punk shapeshifter. He defies the laws of gravity in an attempt to find his place in the world: high up in the sky, deep underground, or somewhere in between.

De Bonk is a performance about queerness, rage, shame, and the overly developed ability to conform to the norm. An ability that is developed out of necessity, can offer safety, but ultimately becomes suffocating.

Bunqer is a creative duo consisting of Tine Tabak and Niels van Heijningen, a writer/dramaturge and a mime/actor. In their work, they strive to connect the thinking body with the adventurous spirit. Their mission is to put ‘mime writing’ on the map and explore how the performative, physical, and honest power of mime can be combined with the poetic and narrative power of language. In this way, they aim to create stories that are unrestrained and full of life. Bunqer seeks to inspire the audience to lead bold, daring, and mindful lives. They have previously created work for Boslab Theater Festival, Podium Bloos, and Studio/K.

Review Theaterkrant | “De Bonk is an intriguing solo performance about someone who, as a queer person, tries to find footing in a world where he is rejected, stared at, and falls outside the norm. The body language of performer Niels van Heijningen, who together with author Tine Tabak forms the young creators’ duo Bunqer, is particularly strong.”
Review Volkskrant | “Intriguing solo theatre about being queer.”
